2026 RAGE Scholarship Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement and Service to the Community

Each year, Pleasanton RAGE Girls Soccer Club recognizes and rewards scholar athletes who demonstrate RAGE excellence in academic achievement and service to the community. At least two $2,000.00 scholarships for college are awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend a 4-year or 2-year college, or a vocational or art school, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher. Applicants are considered based on the following criteria: academic achievement, commitment to volunteerism/service, and number of years playing for RAGE. In addition, an essay is submitted defining one of the RAGE core values (Respect, Attitude, Greatness, Expectations) and explaining how the value is learned while playing soccer and serving the community.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients!

Teagan Iranitalab

Teagan has played soccer for Pleasanton RAGE for 2 years, most currently as a member of the Competitive Program on the 2008 ECNL-RL team.

A senior at California High School, Teagan has a GPA of 4.39 and is awaiting one more admission decision before declaring where she will attend college.  She plans on majoring in either Kinesiology or Human Biology.

To date, Teagan’s academic honors and accomplishments include AP Scholar with Distinction; Cal High Certificate of Academic Achievement & Scholar Athlete; two-year Varsity letter for Cal High Track & Field shot put & discus; Pleasanton RAGE Scholar-Athlete Award; Contra Costa County Regional Occupational Program (ROP) Student of Excellence Award (Human Body Systems); Referee of the Year, Mustang Soccer/Cal North Referee Association.

Equally important and inspiring is Teagan’s list of community service, specifically her involvement in the following: Grow Fit Summer Sports Camp where she led activities for 30 kids, teaching problem solving & sportsmanship; RAGE Recreational Program as coach and mentor of a U10 team, teaching soccer skills & game strategy to young players while increasing confidence & teamwork; independently designed, sewed, & donated 80 NICU safe smocks to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital for families in need.

Teagan chose the RAGE core value “Expectations” for her essay topic.  She says, “Playing soccer for RAGE has allowed me to learn more about the value of having expectations of yourself…. Expectations are guidelines for how you push yourself to grow and how you respond to different challenges.”

Hayden Moe

Hayden has played Soccer for Pleasanton RAGE for 14 years, most currently as a member of the Competitive Program on the 2008 ECNL team.

A senior at Amador Valley High School, Hayden has a GPA of 4.23 and is undecided as to where she will attend college. She plans on majoring in either Health Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, or Spanish.

To date, Hayden’s academic honors and accomplishments include AP Scholar with Distinction; State Seal of Biliteracy for proficiency in Spanish; Pleasanton RAGE Scholar-Athlete Award; Varsity letter for both Soccer & Volleyball; North Coast Section (NCS)/CIF Scholar-Athlete Award; Cal High Sports, Harker Scholar-Athlete Award.

Rounding out Hayden’s excellence in academics and honors is her community volunteerism, specifically her service to the following: Girls Soccer Worldwide as a 4-year member and an Ambassador, Hayden participated both internationally in Paraguay and locally with the Grassroots Program. Her service at the Grassroots level included teaching young girls leadership skills & lessons, and how to play soccer; RAGE Spring into Action & RAGE Kicks Cancer community service events as a facilitator and fundraiser; Habitat for Humanity; Night to Shine Tri-Valley, Special Olympics, and RAGE TOPSoccer — all programs and organizations that inspired Hayden to volunteer because her sister was a participant; Member: Amador Valley High School Mr. Amador Committee, specifically the Talent Committee helping a participant prepare for the show with hopes of raising lots of money to donate to the George Marks Foundation.

Hayden chose the RAGE core value “Greatness” for her essay topic.  She says, “My time and experience with RAGE helped set me up for success on and off the field.  I know I can carry… the values learned into the next chapter of my life.  … greatness is the ability to believe in yourself and push yourself to be your best, and to be there for the ones who need you.
