RAGE U13 Elite and Premier Teams
Lexi and I are on the U13 elite and premier teams. We decided to raise money to buy toys for the patients at Children’s Hospital Oakland by selling hot chocolate at a Christmas light show in Livermore. It was cold and rainy, so not many people stopped by our stand. We decided to walk around and sell the hot chocolate to people standing in line. Our strategy was a success and we sold out within 2 hours. Many people decided to donate money to this cause and some people gave money without buying hot chocolate. Some stopped to talk to us about how grateful they were that we were raising money for such a great cause. This got us thinking of how lucky we are to be able to walk, talk and simple things like that because some people don’t get the chance to. At the end of the night we raised $470. We received feedback from the staff at the hospital that since everyone feels the need to donate for the holidays, it would be most beneficial to wait a couple months to deliver the toys when there is a greater need.
