2017-02-06T23:39:02-08:00November 27th, 2015|

The U14 Flight OutRageOus girls wrapped up their 2015 Pleasanton Rage season winning the California Cup in Fremont.  The girls showed great character and resilience during the tournament, and they staged a dramatic come-from-behind victory in the final minutes of the championship match.
OutRageOus never gave up as they battled against Rage Revolution, another Pleasanton team.  The final goal was scored by Constanze Huebner with 4 minutes remaining in the game – a long shot that found the upper corner of the goal, despite outstanding goal-keeping.  Earlier in the second half, Jordyn Self tapped a beautiful cross from Abbey Baer into the net to tie the score.  The match ended with a 2-1 victory for OutRageOus.  The entire OutRageOus team contributed to the win with tremendous defensive and goal-keeping efforts as well.

The team passed the ball incredibly well and quickly found Gianna Owens up top for a quick 1-0 lead. Rage continued to dominate possession and eventually Gianna Guerrero found net again early in the second half, putting Rage up 2-0. They would go on to win the game 2-1 on strong goalkeeping from Reese Gotchall and Eva Torrico; relentless defending and midfield play from Presley Cash, Ava Haviley, Abby Mai, and Alden Hofstede; and further offensive firepower from Riley Horn, Aleka Mandava and Aishwarya Anburaja.  This is Rage’s second high profile tournament win and readies the Orange for the upcoming Norcal State Cup.

U12 Rage Player wins Northern California 1/2 Mile Track Championship

shriber

The other day I was in the Pacific Association Championship track meet in Sacramento running the half mile. It was my second competitive track meet and my first competitive meet in the half mile.   There were over 70 other runners who were seasoned track competitors.  I was in the last and fastest heat based on my being a fast runner and having a fast 400 time.  When the gun went off I decided to hang back like my coach said.  I stayed near the back of the pack for the first lap and a half..  Then I was feeling good so decided to turn on my sprinting.  I caught at least five girls.  Then I came up on the one girl who everyone knows for winning so many medals.  I passed her then on the final 100 meters was able to catch the last girl and win gold!  My current time of 2:29 puts me in the top 10-15 nationwide.  If all goes well I am going to the Junior Olympics in Florida in late July.  – Lizzy.
