Around the holidays it’s the perfect time to spread happiness around you town, so that’s what I did! I decided to make a hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie stand to get food for families in need. I love to bake so I made dozens of chocolate chip cookies. They are my favorite so I guessed that my neighbors would like them too! I also thought people would want a drink to go with it so I made some hot chocolate. I made a festive sign and stand and then went straight to selling my hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies. When I told my neighbors what I was doing my stand for (food for families in need) people got very generous. With the money I earned from my stand I was going to go to Safeway to buy their Feed Those In Need bags. That is when you pay ten dollars per bag of food and then that bag goes to a family in need around the holidays. I was outside my driveway from 2:00 to 4:45. During that 2 hours and 45 minutes I sold as many hot chocolate cups and chocolate chip cookies as I could. I got many people coming to my stand. Before I had started my stand I made a goal of earning 50 dollars. That would mean I could help 5 local families in need, but instead I earned 70 dollars! That meant I helped 7 local families. I went to Safeway and bought the 7 bags. As I walked out of the store I felt very thankful and proud that the stand I made helped spread the holiday spirit for 7 families!
