2008 Spring Soccer
U9-U13

This year, in an effort to meet the needs of more of our membership, your club will offer two Spring Soccer Programs, one of which will be geared toward those girls who played on our recreational and Flight teams last year. The second program will focus on the technical and conditioning needs of our Competitive teams’ players

Recreational Spring Soccer – this program will include U9-U13 players (Fall 2008 age groups). Players will be challenged with fun soccer drills during the week (1 practice per week) and small sided games on the weekends (Saturday mornings). Recreational Spring Soccer will be run by Gordon Lang and Jaimy McLaughlin with help from the remainder of the Rage Technical Staff and volunteer coaches.

Competitive Spring Soccer - This year’s Spring Soccer for the competitive teams’ players is designed for girls aged 10 to 14 years old. This unique program moves away from the conventional 11 v 11 games and breaks down techniques and game play into smaller sided matches. Spatial awareness, problem solving, and understanding numerical advantages and disadvantages are factors in a player’s success, individually and in team play. Over a two- month period, this program highlights many aspects of game play including position specific tactics and increased decision making. Pleasanton Rage mentors will be a player’s only guidance during games, allowing for free expression of the player’s ability. Development through this program will result in a more versatile and complete soccer player.
